Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does it cost ?
A: A small fee is added to each listing to cover costs - It's a not for profit service, but I need to cover costs.

Q: Can I change the price on my listed item ?
A: Yes and No.  Silver prices are so volatile at the moment , that makes it acceptable.
But you should put a reserve price on the item if your unsure what its worth, and negotiate with the buyer if it passes in
Check with the admin, this policy may change as the auction site matures.

Q: Does this site handle billing the buyer
A: NO, its like marketplace, you take care of the billing, and postage, and insurance, (AND RISK), etc...

Q: What happens if I get scammed
A: Due your due diligence first. Never send goods without receiving money first. Check the seller is legitimate, get their phone number.
We will take as much care as possible to weed out scammers, but its your responsibility in the end.

Q: How do I work out the value of a coin / stamp.
A: Check what the SELLING price was on ebay. (Not the asking price) . Get hold of a values book like RENNIKS for coins.
If its a silver/gold coin work out its melt price as a starting price.  Get some advice from the coin groups.
Be aware that 90% of the time you will be given biased pricing advice, so do your research.

Q: Can I combine postage ?
A: You can do whatever the seller lets you do. The postage is up to you and the seller, including signing for delivery and insurance.
Get each others phone numbers and negotiate.  If the seller / buyer wont give you their number that's an immediate red flag.

Q: What size/qty photos should I upload ?
A: Upload as many photos as needed to get good details of the selling item. (no more than 10)
But DONT upload large file sizes, it slows things down and restricts the number of photos you're allowed.  Preferably less than 0.5mb per photo.
Add details in the description if the photos don't give enough clarity (things like damaged cases etc.)
Set your camera / phone to the lowest resolution and use that for uploads.
If your buyer wants high resolution photos , email them ! If your seller cant provide extra photos, thats a red flag.

Q: Should I put my name and date on my photos ?
A: Yes, although this is not enforced, it gives the buyer more confidence that the seller is legitimate. It also stops people using your photos.

Q: Will this auction site change its policies, layout, pricing etc in the near future ?
A: YES, YES YES,  its still under development.  Everything seems to be working, but improvements are constantly being made.

Q: How do I pay for listing fees ?
A: At the moment you can just periodically transfer to my bank account or PAYID. Make sure you include your Name and I will update your account
The fees are very small, but if you list hundreds of coins, you will have to keep up with payments.
